Wow Snorander, that is gorgeous scenery and a sunshine filled sky to boot. Love it. Glad you got out to scratch that itch a lot of us have been feeling this year. Sleds are looking as sweet as ever. I too got out this past weekend. Saturday rode 48 miles combined on three sleds. Nordic, Citation and Legend. I put 20 miles on the Nordic itself and would have gone further, but a section of the track started smacking the inside of the tunnel so I turned around. For a couple of years now I've known there is a small piece missing. And the chaincase oil leaks out within days after filling. Just need to dig into it and get it changed out. I have two spare tracks to choose from, I hope one of them is decent enough to last a few years. Lets hope for more snow soon, but for today it is raining in my neck of the woods . Seems to be the story of the season for many of us. Warm and rainy.

Very nice snorander looks like you had some nice groomed trails to ride on. Wife and I went out Saturday night and got little over 50 miles in wasn't bad conditions wet holes were freezing up some but yesterday temp got into the low 30s and today it is rainy yep Doo640ER that has been the story this year get a couple good days then warm ups and rain.

Snorander….Nice pics, looks like a great ride. I am curious, many of the pics from you lately seem to be more the STX rather than the Z, Iam I dreaming ?? You still like the STX better ??

Hi Bones, The Stx Has electric start, 38mm carbs with easier throttle pull than the Z, and I put a newer track with 1.25" lugs on it this summer. So I've been riding it for those reasons this winter. The only other differences between the STX and the Z is the STX has a narrower from end and a mechanical brake. I tried to put electric start on the Z years ago, but because of the bigger carbs it has a different engine mount plate and the starter motor wouldn't fit without cutting the plate and welding it or switching to 38mm carbs and using a plate from an STX as well as an airbox from an STX. I still like the Z, it's registered, but I haven't ridden it yet this year.

Beautiful, awesome, good for you. Sleds look wicked pissa. Gorgeous part of New Hampshire and a little less traveled than the Whites.

Hi Bones, The Stx Has electric start, 38mm carbs with easier throttle pull than the Z, I have a 98 Z - 583 ( 40 mms) I run 39 mm carbs springs in them, makes for a easier pull

Thats some beautiful pics snorander. Not that I dont like the Z, but the way you have the STX setup with the suspension / skis / colors ete, it just looks awesome IMO

Thanks Olyman! I agree, but I'm biased LOL! I really wanted to replace all the yellow idler wheels on the Z, but I just could justify the cost of replacing perfectly good wheels...they would look much better if they where red...Same with the STX, I'd rather have red wheels, but don't want to waste the money when the silver one are all fine.

I was thinking the same thing when i had my SS. It was easier to justify switching to a color you like if you happen to blow a tire or two. But to address the silver wheels - I really dig them! Don't know why but I just think it works! Keep em silver! (again just my 2c!)

I put electric start on my wife's 96 back in 97. I tried the larger recoil first, but it was still too hard for her to pull. The kit came with a different engine plate. Everything for the starter bolted on it, also voltage regulator and battery box. No carb or air box issues. I cut 2 coil off the carb slide springs for her and it was fine. Hope that helps.

Thanks. I've been lurking for many years. Was working on my 95 F-Z last weekend. Was going to put the larger recoil on that. No way for it to clear the motor plate. That engine is slammed as far down as it can get.

I would love to find the part number for that kit.
