Over the last couple of years I have been keeping in touch (via text) with a fellow member of the old site. He goes by the handle "OneLungerDoo". He has yet to migrate over here to the new site but should soon. Anyway, he sent me a flier for a small vintage sled show and ride that was scheduled for last Saturday and it was fairly local to both of us taking place in Corry, PA. It was being put on by the Tri-County Trailblazers Club. This season has been quite a bust around here, so Friday night after work I spent 3-4 hrs. loading up a few goodies onto the clamshell and into the F150 bed. Saturday morning,...off I go for the 51 mile, 1 hr., 20 minute drive from N.E. Ohio to Corry, PA. I left my property staring at grass and the closer I got to the venue, the more beautiful snow I was oogling over. A pleasant surprise to say the least! As I arrived, I saw my old friend from high school unloading some old Iron, a 71 Gilson. He and the sled traveled in from Kent, Ohio. Was great to meet up with him. He's addicted to Ski Doos also like us (has about 15 of em) but has never latched onto any of the old sled forums. I've tried and tried, but he's been seduced by the dark side (facebook )
Anyway, I ramble... so on with the show. Not long after I arrived, I finally met up with OneLungerDoo. It's always great to put a face to the name. He unloaded his sleds and we chatted and mingled. Had a great time. Great food, great conversation with a lot of great folks. The club members could not have been more inviting and accommodating. Impressive trails. Got to take a 12-mile round trip ride. Conditions were adequate for the old iron with the little snow that was present, but it was a blast.
