Nice article! How much more power is there in an SS engine? Worth keeping my eye open for another ditch banger?

The SS has about twice the power of the 250 single. The 300 SS is a fairly wild ride.

Back around 79/80, my older brother had what I think was 74 Elan 250SS if I remember correctly. He was always trying to keep up with his friends (they were brothers) who rode a 78 TNT 440f/c and the new 1980 Citation SS. Well, one day while playing chase with his Elan he nailed a fencepost down at the local baseball fields. The hood took the brunt of it. All I smelled the next day was fiberglass resin.... I always wonder where that sled is now.
