First ice fishing trip of the season. Gotta love it when you can fit a Ski-doo, sled, an ice hut and all the gear in the back of my Chevy Colorado. The Elan was back to its reliable old self......

I could tell you a big fish story....but I don't have one!!!! The kids went to bed hungry last night....cuz all I caught was one perch!!! Pretty big for a perch though... In my defense I was trying out a new lake....and getting out there is always fun....no matter what I catch...

Ah, that's just enough for a delicious Pearch sandwich! It's time to get the kids out there on the ice to increase your catch rate odds. Man, I could really go for some fresh perch. Mouth watering here,...LOL

I was down in the warm and sunny Caribbean for a couple of weeks and missed probably the best snow conditions in 10 years. We seriously had over two feet of snow on the ground for about a month! Then, of course I get home and 2 days later we get 55 degrees and 1.5 inches of rain. Destroyed the excellent conditions, the we got about 5 inches yesterday. So I finally got a chance to ride around a little bit. Pictures to come once I fire up the laptop!

So here we go with some pictures. Here is the big snow we had back on January 17th. I was so busy with work and trying to get ready for my vacation, I didnt get a chance to get out and ride immediately. I really wanted to get out the Nordic and the 67 Oly to give them a shot in the 20 inches of snow.Five days later I was able to get away and meet up with a couple of buddies to ride the trail about 15 miles from my house. It's an old railbed turned into a Greenway Trail. I brought my 67, my buddy Tony brought his 71 Gilson and John brought his 78 Everest. Jason brought his 03 Legend 700. He doesn;t have anything vintage (yet! but I keep working on him, LOL) You can see my 2011 GSX in the background also, I just had to bring that too so I could stretch it's legs. I try to get my buddies to join this site, but they are too into the Faceplant thinggy.
I put about 10-12 miles on the 67. Every once in a while during the ride I would stop to check the temperature of the upper chain case bearing housing to make sure it wasn't getting hot. If you can remember my inner bearing failure last year, I'm making sure that doesn't happen again. So far so good. It was warm, but never got hot to the touch. I did some other riding over the previous couple of days, I'll start a different thread for that fun!
