Howdy
1st question. Which is better to run the screw in fuel filter or the adapter on the bottom of a tilly with a in line fuel filter. In all honesty, I was planning on running the screw in along with a in line filter.
2nd question. My sled never came with the bolt and nut for the kill switch. Might any one know where to get them at or happen to have a set that they could spare, thanks

I don't know which is better, but I feel more secure with the adapter. I was constantly checking the screw on filter to make sure it was tight.

Seems like all the screw on filters of today are a little worse than cheaply made. That being said I still use them because they are cheap and mount easily. I like to take the new gasket out and lightly sand the flat surface with a really high # sandpaper to get it as smooth as possible. Then add a tiny bit of grease to help it seal. That's the first place they fail (or don't ever seal from new). I have several running with these screw ons. That said I have a double HD I'm going to get going soon and I plan to use the flat black adapters on them.
Not sure what you mean with the kill switch. Is it OEM? Indak? I might have a strap and screw setup from a 73 tnt.

My thoughts are that the aftermarket screw-on filters are not totally junk, just the o-rings they are supplied with ARE junk. It doesn't take long for them to harden-up due to the ethanol in the gas these days. Then they lose their sealing properties and your sucking air into that beautiful Tillotson, I've researched other o-rings a few months back and located some that would probably work and be much more resistant to the effect of the fuel. I'm thinking Buna-N or Viton would work well?? I might doo some measuring today to see if I can come up with the correct size. Has anyone else already done this??

I've got an old kit of o-rings, that I think are meant for hydraulic repair or sorts. I do believe there's one size that works for these filters, though it's kinda fat. I'll see what I can dig up and post

Yes the o ring supplied with the replacement screw on filters are crap. I have never run ethanol fuel but still had the filter leak air in at the o ring within a month of installation. Try replacing the supplied o ring with a quality one.

I toss out the o-ring and use the Tillotson style cork gasket.
