The girlfriend and I traveled over the mountains to Mazama WA a few weekends ago for some vintage and modern riding. The first day we had planned to ride the Summit and my trusty MXLT but then I found this bolt in the MXLT front suspension during my pre-trip! Needless to say, the plan changed. Luckily I always have a spare sled tucked into the trailer............. Now I'll admit they don't exactly match but it's what we had: a 1967 Oly and a 2012 Summit 800 ETEC. So we rode our butts off! We rode up from Goat Creek to the Black Pine warming hut and Erin got a lesson on the finer points of Oly ridin' 36 miles later I was beat. I did most of the Oly riding and didn't have much left. The Oly was of course ready to go! and go.... and go. Actually, they look pretty cool together. Lots of looks on the trail, and off too.

Love it! I know the 67 is "The Light Footed One", but did it go anywhere the Summit did? Off trail?

It's good to be back! The Oly held its own, especially in the trees. We didn't hit any steep terrain where the Summit really shines. I set all the tracks around the warming hut with the Oly since it is so nimble and easy to wind through the forest. The Summit is a tank by comparison. On the trail we were cruising 15-18mph. Probably the slowest trip the Summit has ever taken!
