I'm changing the track and rear link plates on Silver Bullet. The link plates ride on bolts that are bushed and just about every other one I've taken apart before the bushing was completely siezed into the link plate. Perhaps it doesn't affect performance when they're seized as the assembly will still rotate on the bolt. But seeing as I'm starting with a NOS unsiezed assembly I'd like to keep it that way (for the next guy changing the track 50 years from now, ha ha). Should I use a low temp grease on the bushing? Or would an Anti seize work better? I ask as I've seen dried out grease on things I've disassembled in the past and am wondering if the anti seize, even if it dries out, might leave some hope of it coming apart again in the future. Any thoughts or insight would be appreciated.

I think if the part is moving constantly (rotating), then grease should be used. In this case, we don't wannt the parts seizing, so anti-seize should be used. I did a little reading after you asked the question, and it seems a nickel based anti-seize works better in cold temperatures. My link plates are currently off, and that is what I will be using on the bushings.

I've done both. I think the grease idea is best too. White lithium grease also works good in low temps

Thanks for the responses. Before I saw them I elected to reassemble with the conventional Anti Seize. So we'll see how that turns out over time. Frankly, I hope I never have to find out; ie, with decent track, new bearings, sprockets and seals in place maybe I'll never need to take that all apart again. I'm pleased to report that the used track rotates nicely on the sprockets and that the chaincase oil seals are doing their job. I've installed nice looking used tracks on other sleds in the past only to be disappointed when I found they're shrunken and crazy tight, or like to ride over the sprockets, or the seals leaked oil onto the garage floor. So far, I think this one is working out on all fronts.

Great to hear good sir. Thats a great feeling when it doesnt bleed all that stinky oil on the floor! We expect to see winter pics of the silver streak tearing it up this year!
