New to the HD carb world and trying to measure the pop off pressure. I see the fuel inlet hole is angled and I can't get a good seal with my gauge. Any tips?

Think I got it figured out. Put the plates on and tested it through the filter. Not ideal, but still works.

Yes, that's how I doo it also Rock. As you said, not ideal if you need to keep taking it apart to make adjustments or troubleshoot. What sled are ya working on?

Yeah, that is the downside, taking it apart a few times. I got a 292 engine for my 72 tnt and a few tach's that I need to test.
Anyone have a spare HD plate screw I can buy? Somehow I think mine came with 5 instead of 6 or I lost one somewhere.

Thats how I test as well - not too many other ways to do it. My tester came with a second fitting that has a brass tube and a rubber ring on it, but I don't think I would attempt that & agree with what I see from it. I might have one kicking around Rock I'll let ya know if I can find one.
