I was not looking for an alpine again... but I found this one locally. Was mainly interested in the engine but after looking at the rest of it decided that I am in for another 'million bogie wheel' restore lol.
She needs a few parts so I started another topic in the parts section.
Actually in pretty good over all condition. The previous guy bought it out of a barn where it sat for at least 20 years. He took it all apart and then decided he wasn't interested enough to bother continuing. Came with a windsheild but it was brittle & didnt like the drive home. Has a short piece of lexan on the front edge for something??? Maybe holding mitts? No idea
Funny that it has all the gauges on it - there's a cylinder temp gauge, oversized vintage tach, and an ammeter lol. The guy must have liked his wiring because aside from all the gauges he even put a brake light switch on it, behind the dash lamp, and some kind of light under the seat.
he also must have liked the newer 70's handle bars & added the pad + the buttons on it too. I doo believe it does actually have high low beams (3 wires running to the head light)
Like most early alpines its got some work done to the ski so it turns better... this runner thing has to be at least an inch tall with the angle iron under it!
Has a good gas tank
but the tracks are some really weird 3 holed tracks.. that are not worth the effort. They have missing clips and some pretty bad rot in places.
