Over the last couple of days I managed to do some putting around on my property and also rode some of the southern dirt roads in my area. Just thought I'd share the fun. Sorry no video since I'm a one-man operation, LOL. I started with the 11 GSX, then brought out the 72 Nordic, then the 81 4500 and finished up with the 67 Oly. I wanted to get out the 02 Legend also, but I pooped-out .
This was yesterday. Took the 72 Nordic for a rip down the snow/ice packed roads south of my area. I put on about 13 miles and she seems to be running quite well. A slight bog on the lower range of the throttle, but that could be clutching. It doesn't bother me enough to mess with it right now. This cover bridge is about 1.25 miles from my house. They shut this road down in the winter since the road is fairly steep on both sides. Its a cool place to just hang for a while.
The river is running pretty high right now!!
So just for the heck of it, when I got home after the ride, I checked the plugs to see how they're burning. The first is the PTO side, then the Mag side. The PTO side is running a newer AB-8 and the mag is running an old (not sure how old, haha) A-8. I needed to carry two different plug wrenches. I plan to put a new AB-8 on the mag side just to be consistent. I'm running 40:1 BRP premix/injection oil. I would expect the PTO side top run a little hotter, but are these colors a little too far apart? I resealed the engine about 4 years ago so I don't expect a seal leak. I think the PTO side actually looks good.
I hope to get out and ride again today since tomorrow it will be 48F
