I was at my favorite Doo dealer in Bay City yesterday, heard a guy asking about 550 Fan Cool parts. Rob, the parts guru tells the guy that Ski-Doo has quit making replacement parts for all fan cooled Rotax motors! So then Rob asked what sled and the guy says '07 Rev 550, Rob also tells him that Rev parts are also obsolete, so start holding on to your extra parts! hotdoo

Seems like all the manufactures are doing that lately forcing the people to buy new. Couple of years ago I was in getting parts and overheard the service manager tell a customer that they don't work on anything older than ten years. The customer wasn't to pleased told me when we were walking out he bought both sleds new from here and the four wheeler and the lawnmower and I get told this.

Couple of years ago I was in getting parts and overheard the service manager tell a customer that they don't work on anything older than ten years. One of the problems is the techs available to dealerships now have no knowledge or experience with anything older than ten years. They have never seen a carburetor never mind a set of points. If they can't plug it into a computer and follow the prompts they can't fix it.

I agree with you snocrusher and that is what all manufactures want is to have a dealer tech fix the issue. Drives me nuts because I'm pretty sure I know the problem but you buy a sensor but you need a computer to program the module to the new sensor. Don't get me started on parts plain ridiculous maybe this is a wakeup call not everything needs to be pushed by a button to make something operate.
