After losing some more knuckle skin, thinking there has to be a better way. And this is it. Plastic tree felling wedges. Cheap, light weight, easy to carry on the trail. Plastic is slick enough to slide on the alum, yet have a few scales to prevent them from backing out on their own. Wonder why it took 5 decades to figure out.

Now that is one great tip of the day! Five decades, funny. I guess it's true... sometimes the obvious solution is the most elusive. Jamming our knuckles always seemed so natural. At least I took to wearing leather gloves after some blood letting.
