I've had three total. Still have a couple. Never had a problem starting them except in the middle of summer. Paid $200 for the last one (it was in rough shape, but engine ran) 11 years ago.

thanks adm seem like it should have another carb on the other cylinder its a strange looking motor .do they sound like a normal twin ?i am going today to see if the 299 he sold me has spark . things are getting out of hand i have been buying olys when i see them .seems like they come in pares i need to pick out a couple and sell some of them .i wanted one now i am having trouble counting them . it may be hording ha ha

No, they only came with one carb.
Others "paste" another carb on the front cylinder to make it look cool! Think about it though--two HD carbs for an engine that fires both cylinders at the same time. Not needed, but still cool.
They don't sound like a regular twin cylinder that fire 180 degrees out. Sounds like a single Rotax on steroids.

Ha! Awesome snoking, you have the fever too! The first sled sounds like a 12/3, which is either 69 or 70. Sonds like good find for 100.
The super 370 is a good find if the engine turns over with compression. Those engines are getting quite hard to find, especially good mufflers. They only ever came with one hd carb on the rear jug, and the fuel gets to the front through the CC and the transfer ports. They sound different than other twins because both cyls doq the compression strokes at the same time.
Might be worth 400 if its in nice condition.

i took the plug out and it has no spark .turns over nice it in pretty nice shape it has the air box on it .when i was at hay days the seat guy tried to sell me one .he wanted 100 for the air box .so if i can get it to run it will be a bonus .the shop is full so it will have to wait .i have a 299 out of the super olympic on the bench not sure what to do with it .have to move over to the one lunger help desk on that . this sled has narrow skis like the 68super has but the hood is more rounded an has studs and wing nuts holding it down .how will i know if it is a 12 3?. motor has iron cylinder aluminum head says 299 on tag no emblem on the back rest

definitely a 69 12/3 by the way you describe it. Does it have the tag on the rear of the tunnel?
SnoKing
thanks 70oly I didn't look for the tag I left it at my other place I will go look tomorrow. What would you do about the no spark issue the sled looks like its had decent care the gas doesn't smell that bad tracks ok can you just put a file on the points or is it because the key is gone and its unplugged. I hate to take it apart I have one 299 apart now not sure what to do with.it had a lot of end play on crank one bearing a little noisy one bearing will move easy on the crank. I need to get a book so busy keep thinking I going to have time an something else come up. Why do they call them a 12|3? 12 hp 300cc?
