Just wondered if anyone has had any issues using Sports Parts inc pistons that Royal Distributing sells I assume they are offshore? I just acquired a 1990 Safari LXE with a 447 that has one scored piston I assume either the crank seal leaked or a plugged pilot jet caused it The mag side is fine I have never used these pistons before (or even heard of them so I am a little timid) This machine has 238 km's on it and the cylinder is still standard size and fine thanks in advance

Yes the SPI is a offshore piston. There is really only ( I believe ) two different offshore manufactures of these pistons, many brands to choose from but they are all the same.

I have stuck SPI pistons in many motors and can't say I have seen any failures due to lack of quality. Make sure you address the issue that caused the original pistons to fail or any replacement pistons are doomed to fail.
