A real beauty Doo640ER. Very easy starting sled that runs nice. Although the least performance of all the TnT F/As, the nicest runner. The 77/78 TnTs kinda lost their "performance status" due to the intro of the RVs. The "cube" TnTs never seemed to take off as a collector but personally I kinda like em. I had a very nice 78 - 340 in my possession several years ago and sold it, have kicked myself ever since. Congrads on a very nice pick up. Bones

Thanks Bonesie! I've had a fondness for the cubes since the beginning as the 78 TnT 440f/c was the very first sled I piloted on my own back around 79 or 80. Was a neighbors sled. Then my buddy got an identical unit a few years later. He's still kicking himself also for selling it back in the late 90s. And is looking for one even today. Really looking forward to digging into this sled to try to get it running. Think I'll doo a leakdown test before the first attempt. So this engine would have been the same one that was used in the 77 RV?

So this engine would have been the same one that was used in the 77 RV? NO !!! The 77 - 340 F/A engine is NOT the same as the RV engine. The RV engine is a rotary valve engine. The TnT F/A engine is a basic piston port engine. The 77/78 - 340 F/A is de-tuned slightly from the 73/75 TnT F/As. I would guesstimate the 77/78 - 340 TnT F/A engine as not much more than 1/2 the power of the 340 RV engine

I am so embarrassed that I made that stupid mistake . I know I knew that (at least at one time). Hence the name RV? I'm going to have to blame this on the fact that it was only about 5:00 in the morning and I wasn't awake yet. That's my story and I'm sticking to it

Abstract Expressionism, Avant-garde, Baroque, Classicism, Minimalism, Surrealism, CUBISM There's an art form to satisfy any pallet. I'm almost embarrassed that I remember all of those. But, BUT, my art history professor was a work of art unto her own. Like a picture she was standing there So, ya, I paid attention. That's a real nice find DooER, have a blast with it. Great fun to bag that one that you first took flight on. The continued ambition you guys have is leaving me in the dust !

Nice ride 640! It looks to be in great shape too. They remind me a lot of the everest and futura of the day. I always liked the orange paint on the intake area on those hoods. Never driven one, but had and traded the engine from one. Being a free air you likely won't have any kind of whine when revved like the fanners like to do.
I havent heard those art terms since high school JoeO! LOL
