I'm getting close to finishing-up the track and sprockets change-out project on the 72 Nordic. Today I'll fire it up and align / tighten the track and put it away for the summer. It's going to feel good next year being able to take it our for rides while not worrying about whether this will be the ride where I leave the track behind me, or wondering if all of the chaincase oil has leaked out . So it got me thinking about what sled to work on next? I have plenty to choose from but I think I'll start with this one. I've had this 75 Oly 300 it for while now and haven't touched it since I yanked it off my friend's trailer. Well, in full disclosure I did pull it over a few times to check for spark and there was none. I unplugged the harness at the engine and still nothing. So I'll start by tackling the no spark issue (after cleaning it up a little to provide some inspiration ) I've always been a fan of the mid-70s Olys Once I get the Oly going I'll probably move onto this 81 Citation. I got this one at the same time I got the 75 Oly. I have no idea what I'm in for with this one, but I should be able to make fairly quick work of getting it up and ridable. I know these 81 Citations like the back of my hand. Its going to need all the typical items such as new wood under the seat. My goal is to have a small fleet of sleds so I can take friends with me on vintage rides and try to get more folks interested in vintage sleds. Not many people around me that share my passion. So what are your plans?

Assuming the world does not end in anarchy, and the family can make it's road trip to Minnesota this summer, I may possibly bring the 73 Oly I did sprockets etc on and rode in the horrible, city paralyzing snowpacolypse of '18 back to MN with us, and pick up my ratty '71 Moto Ski Capri with the 335 Rotax to give it some soft restore down here- clean up, re do the seat, re paint the exterior of the chassis, polish wind shield and hood, get the lights working, and fab a better exhaust for it. Currently exhaling out a ten horse Rotax muffler severely bent to clear the Moto steering support.
While in MN, I have my '71 Scorpion Stinger II I got for $200 this past winter that needs some things- clean out the gas tank so I don't have to run it out of a jug- replace the broken dash/console with the spare I have in better shape, drop the seat off at the local Amish upholsterer, and clean up the hood.

Love the Citation 640, I had one when i was young - surprisingly quick for a 377 when you let them wind out. Even rode it to high school a few times. Took about nearly 2 hours each way but was so much better than getting there any other way at that age. It looks like its pretty good shape. If you get into the seat, something I find that most people do is pull the skin too tight and take the nice seam away from the front of the seat & the gas tank. Probably really easy to do with the seat off. The mid 70's single is cool too - not nearly as many of those vs the twin 3 & 340's. I like the idea of a fleet too.
IronMaidenEric Hope you can bring the old Capri back for some southern orange fun lol. I have a soft spot for those things too. I had two when I was younger (340 hirth and 399 Jigalo). Both were a riot when they ran. But with a 335 thumping around in there what could go wrong? Thats awesome. Do the pic thing with that old beast too. No experience with an old Scorpion though. But hard not to like anything old, especially when it took your effort to make it work.
I am almost done the 71 tnt, and then hope to finish the 66. No other sleds are getting worked on after that. I need a little break before I start tackling the tincab which is next on the list. In the meantime this summer I am going to be reviving a lifted golf cart... and either use a rotax engine or an 18hp twin kohler from my garden tractor... Either way it will need lots of modifying..
