Worked this week on getting '73 Elite up north running, after finding the pickup tube floating, pulse line not hooked up, I got it running, but it has a constant dribble of gas running out of throat of carb and it won't idle down enough to safely change gears. This Tilly has a set low speed jet, so there is no adjustment, it runs at medium and high speed but still dribble gas the whole time. Any thought are welcome. hotdoo

To my knowledge ... only three possibilities for dribbling gas out the carb throat. Leaking welch plug (unlikely), a faulty nozzle check valve or the needle and seat are not sealing correctly.
I would start with the needle and seat which is the most common cause for this problem. Putting in a fresh gasket and diaphragms kit would probably help also if it has been sitting a while.

Thanks I think I'll get a needle and seat first.
