Jimbo Jessup
Are the tracks on the later model Blizzards the same as the tracks from a 75 TNT Fan?
Bones
Nope

The Blizzard runs the common 58 x 1.97 114" track while the TNT runs the 63 X 1.97 124" track.
Jimbo Jessup
I thought the 124" tracks were only on the TNT Everest? And the regular TNT Fan had a 114" track as they have a different part #'s.
I should have been more specific on the question- I wanted to know if the later model Blizzards used internal drive?
John B.
I grabbed my Royal Distributing catalogue and it lists the 74-76 TNT as using a 124" track but this must be a mistake. I thought they ran the same track as the Blizzards, 58 x 1.97 x 16.5. Should be interchangeable.
lowtekrednek
the 114x16.5 came two ways I think, wide or narrow window
Bones
Howdy guys.
All the "jobber" catalogues have listed the tracks wrong for the `74-75 T`nT FCs,I think some one was smokin` some bad electric lettuce a few years back when they made up the list .
The `74-75 FCs have a 16.5" W x 114" L @ 1.97" pitch (58 holes) wide holes.
The `76 - 340 FC T`nTs have the 124" track, 63 holes, same as all the Everests.
The Blizzards have the 114" L x 15" or 16.5" W x 1.97" pitch, all have "narrow" windows.
In the `72/73 tracks there is the "narrow" & "wide" windows that will inter-change `cause from outside to outside of windows is the same on either style, so the sprockets run on the outside of the window keeping the track in line.
On the 74/75 tracks & the Blizzard tracks in question, the center to center distance of the windows in the same, so if you put a wide window track on the narrow sprocket, the track can move side to side, you would have the guide clips getting busted off on the front of the slide rails

AH, ok, I see. I hoping to use a Blizzard track on my 75 TNT, but it has wide sprockets.
So in the end which track does fit the 75 TNT FC? I guess one with wide windows.

jim,
you need a 114x 15 track with the clip guides-
78,79 citation,9500 blizzard, 87 formula plus, free air RV, etc.
I'm sure there are other donor sleds- these are just off the top of my head.
Bones
Hi Jimbo. Yes the track for a `74/75 Tn`T FC has wide windows. It is 114" long. There is very few other sleds with that same track. I can`t remember for sure which ones, but some late `80s were the same( ie Stratos).
You might be able to install a drive axle from a `77/78 T`nT into the `75 sled & use the Blizzard track
I really think the 77/78 axle would be the correct length & fit in the `75 OK . But the `77/78 has 11 tooth sprockets & the `75 has 10 tooth, so with the larger sprockets the track may seem too short to fit OK due to the susp placement
.....Lowtek....NO the citation, blizzard, RV, F/As etc is not the correct track for the `74/75 FCs.

the track I have in my 72 is out of a citation- I thought it was the same as the 9500 track that I used in the waterskipping elan--?? maybe not?
Bones
Hi James. Yes the citation, Blizzard, RVs, FAs etc will fit/work 100% in up to `73 FC T`nTs, but the `74/75 FC tracks are different, the window spacing is different

oops- brainfart
Jimbo Jessup
According to Royal, The Stratos tracks are the same as an 82 9500 track? The 82 & up Blizzards were the ones I was referring to in the originally, later models Blizzards.
If the 74/75 TNT's have 58 holes and the 82 9500 has 58 holes, but has a different part# than the 78-81 Blizzards and the 76-78 RV's which has narrow teeth, I would think this is the right track
Bones
OK, I C . I guess I`m too old To me the early Blizzards are `70-`73, the later Blizzards are `78 up
Doo you have the `82 Blizzard track in hand They are all 1.97" pitch, & it will be 58 holes, so measure the window spacing if its the same as the `75 track then your happy.

Jimbo Jessup
I will have an old track from an 82 9500 this weekend with a pile of parts, can't take the machine yet, but its in pieces.
Jimbo Jessup
I measured the track on my 82 9500 and compared it to my 75 TNT track and it is indeed the same!!
