If ya got a lazy recoil that is not fully winding the rope all the way in, you can try this to tighten it up without cutting the rope.
Place the recoil decal side down on the bench.
Pull the rope handle out about 2 or maybe 3 revolutions of the pulley.
Align the small 1/4" notch in the pulley with the rope guide hole.
Using a small needle nose grab the rope and pull it into the housing, about a 12inch loop.
Placing and holding the rope tight into the notch, hold the housing and rotate the pulley counterclockwise to tighten the spring, usually takes about two revolutions.
Realign the notch with the rope guide and pull the 12 inch loop of rope back out. Should doo it.
