Which year on the 335 had the highest compression ratio. If I recall you can put a 320 head on a 335 jug. I got a 335 apart and was playing around to see what could do with one.

Yes I do believe that you can put a 320 lid on a 335, as the open area is a little smaller than the 335 hence raising the compression. I have one here that I believe is from a 320 and can take any measurements you want from it.

I have a 320 that I rebuilt couple years ago and I know I took pictures of the two different heads side by side and I be dang if I can find them. I think I posted them on the old message board but long gone now and I tried looking back through my emails and can't find so maybe on photobucket. But at one time bones said there were different heads with the 335 but can't recall what year had the less area. Olyman I was pretty sure that a 320 head would work could you possible get the number off the 320 so I could match other 320 heads.

335 heads, the70 head has a large combustion chamber, I always joked you could bring the piston to TDC and turn an Elan around in there. the 72/73 for sure have a much smaller volume. I am thinking the 71 head had slightly larger volume than the 72/73 but I am not sure about that ?? Yes you for sure can use a 320 head on a 335. Bones

Thanks bones for the info.
Olyman thanks, the number on my 335 head is 813035 which has 71 beside it so it is a year 71. Possible the number for a 320 is 813030 maybe.

So the 320 head DOES have numbers under all that crud. Markings: 813 030 1091 and what looks like an "F" with a circle around it. Sharded a folder on my google thing. 320 head
