Can someone point me in the direction where to find a mounting flange. I have everything else needed. Just want to try one old rotax with a mikuni.

You can use a adapter that is made for the Elan 80 - 96. It really is made for a 28 mm carb but will work for the 30/34 carb. They are readily available from the jobbers, many of them jobber adapters are not very durable, I have one that has been is service for about 5 years, so not too bad I guess. Some got to a place that sells genuine Mikuni adapters to buy them, I would think you would have to go by bolt spacing with them to get proper fit. Bones

The genuine Mikuni Adaptors work very well. The proper one for 32 is alot better than the Elan one. John

A long time ago I responded to an ad for a mikuni carb for an elan. Turned out it was a 34mm butterfly mikuni but it still had the boot attached to it. So i brought it home. Couldn't make the carb work on anything (still have it) but the flange ended up fitting my 299 perfectly. Its genuine and says "VM 34 - 200" on it. Here's a link to some pics I took of it.

So an HR stud pattern is 2 1/4", or 57.15 mm center to center. The "VM34-200 34mm" has 60 mm c-c. Though not perfect, that's a pretty good fit. Even with mine you can see a little bump on either side from the stud nuts in the picture. Use as small of washers as possible or modify some to fit properly. Here's a link to an example on Ebay. remember a 30 -34 has the same size of spigot so this adapter will work on all of them. VM34-200
Also found this one (not Ebay), if you wanted to mount something smaller like the Elan carb (28 mm). A little further down you can see what sleds used this style. 28 mm carb adapter

For sure. The "I-VM34-200-1" looks to be about the same as what I posted above, and looks like it also might be genuine. Note that they even recommend supporting the carb to help eliminate stress on the flange. Bones was also a good advocate for that - I too should follow the advice. Good advice since pretty much any single cyl rotax sometimes creates vibrations once in a while.. I-VM34-200-1

Good catch on some of them adapters guys, some of them I did not know existed. VM34-200-1 style..... I found when attempting to use a flange some what like that on a single, the carb wanted to dribble fuel out the over flows at idle. They were ok above idle. I found I had to use a adapter with a longer section of rubber to stop the over flow at idle. Then, yes a support was more important. Bones
